TWO-STEP OPTIMIZATION OF TUNED INERTIAL MASS DAMPERS FOR ELASTIC-PLASTIC MDOF STRUCTURES USING TIME-FREQUENCY DUAL DOMAIN PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

The purpose of this paper is to propose a two-step optimization method design tuned inertial mass dampers for elastic-plastic MDOF structures using the time-frequency dual domain performance evaluation. Although frequency-domain-based approach allows us obtain optimal independent characteristics disturbances, it cannot consider response structures. On other hand, time-domain highly dependent on earthquake ground motions. proposed resolves these issues by use dual-domain information. Finally, analysis recorded motions demonstrates effectiveness method.
